[Music |Steal My Sunshine - Len]

keeping versed and on my feet
if you steal my sunshine

The good news is I'm shooting again! The better news is my new 5D Mark II camera! I had been saving up for about a year for it, and when I had enough to get my own, I asked my grandparents who were on vacation in Hong Kong to look for one there because it would be cheaper to buy there. Then, my uncle told me that I could have his. I shed tears of joy. They were invisible. But I meant them.

I met up with Nissy to celebrate the new camera, and her new hair, at Ayala Triangle Garden, which is close to her new job at Lomography.ph. Newness. And it only took three months into 2012.

We eat at Chef Laudico's BFast, which was very good. I had this pasta dish. But then it didn't satisfy me.
So I had the angus tapsilog after, because I have illusions of being unconditionally thin and wealthy.

We walked through the Stock Exchange building after, and we took some photos before realizing that it wasn't allowed. I don't know why.

It's a beautiful building, with ugly security.

The next day I met up with Gian in UP for the Slo-Pitch softball game between UP JMA and a certain Mark's Team at the track oval.

Hi Gian!

Hi Ram!

Quarter Portuguese up in this bitch.

Gian and JMA President Louie! Hi!

Mark's Team was impressive.

Hi Matias!

Our very lively commentator. Hi girl!

It was almost a tie. But it wasn't. Hi Bea C!

Team JMA! Hi everyone!

Bye Ram!

That night, Gian and I unearthed some crazy headdresses from his Ateneo Sibol days, and we had a shoot. But that's for later.

Re: gaaad

Why thank you! That's the dirtiest and sweetest thing someone's told me. Outside the bedroom.

It might be! The office takes over the old SoFA campus on Paseo, and cats are allowed inside.

The 00s are the new 90s are the new 80s!

Allowing cats = flawless office. They allow beer drinking too!

Yes on 00s and 90s being the new 80s, that's why washed up artists from that era are coming to the Philippines for concert tours!

It's cool that a couple of things are constant: 1) you're still taking amazing pictures and 2) Nissy has hair

It's been a long time since I've gone through my Livejournal friends page and I had to pause when I realized how long it's been since I looked at your journal. I wanted to drop by and mention how much I have enjoyed reading your stories and looking at your photos over the years! Beautiful place and beautiful people :)

Keep it up!

Thank you so so much! :) It is always an honor to hear that you and some others still keep an eye out for this space. Your words are one of many reasons I keep doing this. Thank you again!

How funny! I recently died my hair that exact shade of red!

Congrats on your new camera!! That's always wonderful and exciting.
I also have a question: as someone who's always debating wether or not to lug my big camera around with me everywhere, I'd love to know: how do you carry your camera? do you always have it with you, do you keep it in a camera bag, a regular backpack, or just on it's straps?? etc.

It's Fire Engine Meets Ariel red!

I bring my camera around in a really compact camera bag, and just take it out whenever I feel like shooting. Sometimes it gets a little awkward so I just bring it around on its straps.

Just make sure that your camera is safe from getting unnecessarily bumped around, so a regular backpack isn't a good idea, because it lacks the padding that camera bags have :)

And if you just want to look good- like a photographer but not a baduuuuuy photographer- look for a camera bag that matches your style :P

Congrats on your new camera!

Are you the official photographer for UPJMA? And, I read your reply regarding the "if you bring around your camera with straps comment", what's your camera bag then? :)

I hope I can meet you in person! Such a great photographer :)

Thank you!

I'm not the official anything of JMA, I'm not even a member actually! I started covering their semestral Ad Hoc parties after slowly getting to know many of them, and most of my non Mass Comm and Film friends are JMA :)

My camera bag now is a very compact Lowepro bag. It's padded and fits one camera, and has a pocket for memory cards or an extra battery. I'd prefer a bigger one with room for a lens or other equipment, but the bag's very portable, and secure!

Thanks again! If ever you see me, just say hi! I usually end up in strange places.
